Note: Apps created or converted to Certificate Template Builder v3 after February 2022 have a default template. Apps created before that time with the v3 builder enabled may not have one. If the default template does not exist in an app, a new or existing template can be used instead.
-
In the certificate builder, select fields to add from dropdown and click the + button to add it to the template. See Certificate Builder Fields for more information about these fields.

Note: Occasionally, apostrophes will not generate correctly on certificates and in the Certificate Sender Name. For the best results, avoid using special characters in session names. If the apostrophe isn’t saving correctly, delete and re-add the character using the ' key on your keyboard. Additionally, it’s always a good idea to test the PDF and the email delivery.
Set values of any static fields with the appropriate content (e.g. address, time statement, etc)
-
Move and/or resize each field as appropriate. Additionally, fields can have their font, font size, color, and alignment changed as desired. Below is a detailed example of placement and style choices that can be used:

Fields highlighted in blue are dynamic fields added from the dropdown menu.
Fields highlighted in yellow are static fields with specific lines of text added.
Fields highlighted in teal have multiple content options depending on the use case. - Click the Save icon to save changes

Considerations for Combined Attendance and Multi-Session Certificates
When using Combined Attendance & Multi-Session certificates, the Program Title, Delivery Format, and Program Location fields are not managed the same way as with single-session certificates.
Set the Program Title
- Navigate to Certificate Configurations & Settings from the admin panel
- Set a program name, then click Save
Delivery Format and Program Location
The delivery format and program location fields are not dynamically populated in combined attendance & multi-session certificates, as these values are session-level and can change over the course of an event. When using combined attendance & multi-session certificates, Conferences i/o recommends duplicating the desired template, then replacing these fields with static text fields.
- To duplicate an existing template, click Duplicate on the template to copy in the Certificate Builder menu
- Provide the duplicate an appropriate name
- Click Customize Look & Feel on the new template, then replace the Delivery Format and Program Location fields with static fields indicating the appropriate values
