Archive an Activity

Administrators can now archive activities in LCvista, similar to how programs can be archived. This helps keep your training catalog clean and reduces clutter when searching for content.

Who can archive activities?

Administrators with the Default Administrator or Activity Read/Write admin role.

How to archive an activity

From Manage Training:

  1. Go to Training and locate the activity you want to archive.

  2. Select the activity, then click Actions.

  3. Choose Archive and save.

From the Activity form:

  1. Open the activity's Add/Edit form.

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the form (below Tags, before Activity Materials).

  3. Toggle the Archive setting and save.

Once archived, the activity will display an Archived banner at the top of its edit form.

What happens when an activity is archived?

  • The activity is hidden from Training by default. To view or edit archived activities, apply the Show Archived filter.

  • The activity is automatically removed from all associated catalogs. It can be manually re-added to a catalog later if needed.

  • Learners with a status in that activity (completed, failed, or assigned) will continue to see it in their record.

  • The activity continues to appear in reports, including a new "Is Archived" column and a filter in the Activity Info report.

Archive definition

An archived activity is no longer actively available for new assignments or catalog discovery, but its historical data is preserved. This mirrors how archived programs work in LCvista.
