LCvista and Surgent Professional Education (Surgent) have partnered to provide and manage Surgent programs for subscribing firms. Surgent provides CPE programs for accounting and tax professionals at all levels, offering both webinars and self-study options.

WHAT TO KNOW

Program Delivery — Surgent provides LCvista with all relevant files and program information for your site which LCvista uploads directly. The metadata includes qualification information all qualifications supported by LCvista.

Staying Current — Surgent sends monthly updates for LCvista to process, covering program expirations, new programs, and webinar cancellations. Last-minute cancellations are processed by LCvista, with an email notification sent to site administrators.

Managing Content — New programs are added to the Surgent Professional Education catalog, which admins control access to using LCvista user groups. Programs can also be added to additional catalogs or learning plans. Expired programs need to be removed by admins and replaced in learning plans; LCvista's “Automatically Hide Inactive Content from Learner Catalogs” feature can be used as a tool to manage expired programs.

Self-Study Timelines — For self-study programs, users typically get a full year to complete once enrolled; in LCvista, you'll see this reflected as a session end date set 365 days out from the enrollment end date, unless Surgent specifies a different window for a given program.

Technical Details — Surgent sends SCORM files, so a user's self-study status is available in the Session Records report. In rare cases, a program may need to be relaunched to send completion information to the LMS. Webinar completions sync with your site within 48 hours.

COMMON QUESTIONS

What notifications will you receive regarding updates?

LCvista sends a monthly email confirming that updates were processed and will set up upload and expiration reports to pull on an ad hoc basis.

How are programs and sessions handled?

Surgent sessions that share the same content regardless of delivery method will be under the same program in LCvista. This means when a user views a program, they will be able to pick the best delivery method for them.

What if the program does not show as complete?

In rare cases, a program may need to be relaunched to send completion information to the LMS. Webinar completions sync with your site within 24 hours.

What if users took another delivery method?

If a user launches another session of the same program (so same content), they will receive a warning that they have already completed the same content.

What about Surgent’s Weekly Expert Hours?

Users can attend multiple Surgent’s Weekly Expert Hours and receive multiple completions, even from under the same program id.

Can completions from Surgent’s LMS sync with LCvista?

No. Users will need to launch and completion training from LCvista.
