LCvista and CeriFi CPEdge (formerly Checkpoint Learning) have partnered to provide and manage CeriFi programs for subscribing firms. CeriFi CPEdge provides CPE for accounting, tax and finance professionals to meet continuing education requirements.
WHAT TO KNOW
Program Delivery — CeriFi provides LCvista with all relevant files and program information for your site which LCvista uploads directly. The metadata includes qualification information for IRS, state-specific ethics, and fraud. Additional qualifications can be added directly to the programs by site administrators.
Staying Current — CeriFi sends monthly updates for LCvista to process, covering program expirations and new programs.
Managing Content — New programs are added to CeriFi CPEdge catalog, which admins control access to using LCvista user groups. Programs can also be added to additional catalogs or learning plans. Expired programs need to be removed by admins and replaced in learning plans; LCvista's “Automatically Hide Inactive Content from Learner Catalogs” feature can be used as a tool to manage expired programs.
Self-Study Timelines — For self-study programs, users typically get a full year to complete once registered; in LCvista, you'll see this reflected as a session end date set 365 days out from the enrollment end date, unless CeriFi specifies a different window for a given program.
Technical Details — CeriFi delivers programs in AICC format rather than SCORM. This means updates to programs' content can be pushed directly from CeriFi. If there are significant updates to content or program details, a new program will be created and the old one expired.
COMMON QUESTIONS
What notifications will you receive regarding updates?
LCvista sends a monthly email to clients confirming what updates were processed. LCvista also will sets up upload and expiration reports on the client site for firm admin to pull when needed.
User completed another CeriFi version of a program?
Because CeriFi can push updates to program packages on existing LCvista programs, in rare circumstances, users may see and complete the most up-to-date content on an existing LCvista program prior to LCvista being notified that a new version is available and able to restrict the current program to only those who are enrolled. In this circumstance, the credit and FOS awarded by CeriFi will stand and the user’s completion will need to be manually transferred to the new program (the new version) once available.
LCvista attempts to mitigate occurences of this by adding enrollment end dates to previous CeriFi programs meant to represent previous versions of courses when new, updated programs are created for updated versions.
