Overview

Poll Blending is a useful way to look at the results of one Poll through the eyes of another Poll.  You can display the results within your presentation and/or use them for data analysis later. 

In the image below, we've blended two questions:

• Poll 1: What industry are you in?
• Poll 2: What was the 2022 US population?
   

Create a Demographic Comparison Poll Using Poll Blending

1. Sign in to the session as a Moderator

   Note: Pre/Post Comparison can only be done with multiple-choice options

2. Create two multiple-choice polls
3. Navigate to Session Settings > Add Live Content to PowerPoint
4. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to generate a Demographic Comparison poll
5. Select the demographic poll first

6. Select the outcome poll second 

   

7. Click Save Demographic Comparison 

Difference Between Demographic Poll and Outcome Poll

In the example at the top of this article, the Outcome Poll was "What is the 2022 US population?".

If instead we chose the Outcome Poll to be "What industry are you in?" this is how the Blended results would appear.

Using the Demographic Comparison Poll

You can confirm the poll has been created because it will appear in the list of your polls on the Add Live Content to PowerPoint page

1. Insert the slides into your presentation. The questions can be asked in any order, but the demographic poll slide must go after the questions:  
   • Poll Question #1
   • Poll Question #2
   • Demographic Comparison Poll  
2. Run the PowerPoint to collect data for both the first question and the second question; and then the Demographic Comparison slide will show the comparison. The slide will be blank until responses have been collected for the first and second poll.

Change the Slide's Background Color

By default, a newly created Demographic Comparison slide will have a dark background. You can switch it to a light background by: 

1. Go to Session Settings 
2. Click Add Live Content to PowerPoint

3. Find the Demographic Poll and click Edit on the right side of the page

   

4. Select Light Background
5. Click Save
